Road restrictions

• Apollo 12. Travel Restrictions -
Counter Agreement B from travel from 1st April 2014 till 31st March 2015.

•(a) Two Wheel Drive Campervans & Motorhomes:-
(i) Cannot be driven on any unsealed roads. The only exception is well maintained access roads less than 12 kilometres long to recognized campgrounds.

(ii) Can be driven to any island (including Tasmania) and/or North of the Daintree River as long as written permission is obtained from Apollo prior to travel. When travelling to these areas clause 12 (d) applies.

• (b) Four Wheel Drive Vehicles:-
(i) may be driven on unsealed roads on the sole condition that the roads driven on have been gazetted. Gazetted roads are roads that appear on official road maps and street directories.

(ii) can be driven to any island (including Tasmania, excluding Fraser Island and Moreton Island), as long as written permission is obtained from Apollo prior to travel. When travelling to these locations clause 12 (d) applies.

(iii) cannot be driven on Fraser Island, Moreton Island, the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park, Gunbarrel Highway, the Old Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York, Central Arnhem Road, Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park), the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finkea and the last 2 kilometres of the Lennard River Gorge Road, at any time. Vehicles are NOT permitted to travel to Cape York between months of December to May. At all other times You, must call the Apollo Fleet Department 24-48 hours prior to travel to a restricted area to request permission.

• (c) Certain locations are considered unsafe to travel without taking some important precautions such as determining road and weather conditions, hence travelling to these areas can only be with four wheel drive vehicles and You must obtain the written permission of Apollo prior to travel. When travelling to these areas the conditions of clause 12 (d) apply.

These Areas include, but are not limited to Any Islands, Tasmania, Simpson Desert, Bloomfield Track, North of Cape Tribulation, Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, Gibb River Road, Kalumburu Road as far as Drysdale Station, Warburton Road, Strzelecki Track, Cape Leveque, Bungle Bungles, the Plenty Highway, Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton and Savannah Way from Normanton to Borroloola, Finke Road, Arnnhem Land in general and any other remote area.

• (d) In the event of an accident or breakdown in an area outlined in clause 12 where this section (d) is mentioned it will be your full financial responsibility to pay any salvage, towing and/or recovery costs to the nearest Apollo branch (except where 4WD Camper Bonus Pack Cover has been purchased and applies). No replacement vehicle will be provided under any circumstances.

• (e) Apollo reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas for any reason including but not limited to adverse road or weather conditions.

 

Travel restrictions Driver's License - A current and full motor vehicle drivers licence is required. If the drivers licence is not in the English language then an international drivers licence is alsorecommended. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit. The drivers licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental.The original drivers licence must be shown at time of pick-up when the driver is present.

Minimum Age - Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. For drivers 75 years of age or over, a current medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle collection.

Euro Slider is only available to/from Brisbane, Sydney and Cairns.
Euro Star is only available to/from Brisbane, Sydney and Cairns.
4WD Outback Camper is not available to/from Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
All 4WD Campers are not available to/from Hobart

All rentals picking up or dropping off on the following days will incur an additional $100 surcharge: • Anzac Day (25 April 2014) • Boxing Day (26 December 2014)
